Southwick's Zoo was great. Animals have so much space and the amount of zoo keeps walking around making sure that all of their animals are well taken care of was impressive. Unfortunately, I was only passing through and didn’t get to photograph nowhere near what this zoo has to offer. The amount of different species and animals is way higher and the experience and the feel overall was fantastic. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to shoot enough there and will be returning again. Looking forward to another trip and more pictures.
Space Farms Zoo in Sussex, NJ.
As you can see, almost everything was shot through the fence so pictures have that white blur all over. I wasn’t able to keep many photos because the blur was too bad. There are also few things I would like to mention about the zoo itself: I didn’t get a great vibe in the zoo from the animals. I felt they were a little neglected. I struggled to find enough keepers there that would properly give attention to all those animals, given how large the space is and how many animals there are. Bears and deer probably had the best enclosures but the big cats like lions, tigers, leopards, etc. had the smallest areas with nothing in them. I struggled to understand why those enclosures were so little when there is so much space around. I felt like they were just caged there with no place to run and be active. There were absolutely no attractions inside those cages where they could entertain themselves. It was just a space and nothing else. I felt like it would be even too small to properly stretch in there for those big and fast animals. I definitely felt that the big cats were neglected. I had the same feeling about the baboons’ enclosure. I have traveled around some states and shot different zoos and I am sad to say this was probably the only one that gave me such a bad feeling.
In-Sync Exotics located at 3430 Skyview Dr, Wylie, TX 75098.
This was an amazing experience and the rescue is amazing. Volunteers are knowledgeable and love every animal there. Unfortunately, I got to shoot on a rainy grey day through multiple fence layers so the pictures very very flat. But I can’t point out enough that vising them and donating to them is worth it. These animals have plenty of space and entertainment for growth and to stay healthy.
